Well I'd say this;

Want a realistic, tactical and teambased game with vehicles and a more mature community? Oh and you can destroy buildings!!
(has better graphics with DX 11 support)

Then go for Battlefield

Want an unrealistic game to run around in guns blazin' and play in a meat grinder?
(worser graphics, because of an older engine, but still quite nice)

Then go for Call of Duty

Anyway if you'd want BFBC2 wait for BF3, it'll obliterate the COD franchise! xD

Out of those two options I would have to choose Modern Warfare 2.

Out of the two options provided I'd definitely have to go with MW2, the online play is much better in my opinion.

BC2 for realism. MW2 for competitive break the laws of physics gameplay.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

I love both games, but I personally prefer Battlefield. The graphics on the game are amazing and the amount of campers seems to be reduced. However, the online community don't seem to always be fun, but it's still worth your while.

I haven't played any BC2, but from what I've heard, all kids do is camp. Anyways I <3 MW2 and could never go back on the CoD series.

I would have to say battlefield hands down. You can always rent one and take it back that way you know which one is best for you.

because battlefield has amazing vehicles that mw2 does not.

I have not played Battlefield either but I want to know more about it

They are both good games but modern warfare 2 has a better campaign and a solid multiplayer.
