I just reformatted my Acer netbook into Windows Vista, and everything works but my Atheros wireless card. It doesn't even show up, and when I look for a network nothing comes up. Yet Driver Scanner, and Driver Genius Pro had me install Atheros and Intel WAN, and LAN drivers.
Go to the vendors site and see what you can find? Maybe contact them and ask?

I tried to use the site to find the driver, I didn't call them though. But, I haven't tried to use Vista in the longest time, I wish I could though, because I personally like it better than 7.
I have had the same problem.
Maybe try the atheros driver from the hp site?
I mean the atheros wireless card is the same for every laptop, right?
But try that and it should work.
