Hey SF..Yesterday I was playing with GIMP script-fu and plugin..It's very wonderful..And this is what I got when I'm using "Blend" tool.

I made this tutorial by myself, so don't blame me if you see something similar like this on the internet.

Step 1

Open a new layer and named it "background" layer.

You can do anything on that layer

~ Either just a black background,

~ or filled it with pattern,

~ or use brushes as you wish

note : this background layer is important, so make it nicely.
I'll just stick with the black colour background.

Step 2

Create a new transparency layer.

Type anything that you want on it.

Now merge the text layer with the transparency layer. Layer > Merge Down.

Step 3

Now repeat step 2 for the further text you want to add.

Step 4(Optional)

If you want to add some image, create a new tranparency layer > paste the image you want > click "anchor the floating layer"

It should look like this :

Step 5

Now duplicate the background layer and place it in between all your layer.

Then, duplicate the background layer once more and place it on top of all layer

Step 6

Now we will blend all the layer.
Filter > Animation > Blend.
set the blend tools as you wish. Experiment for great result.

You can view the animation by "playback" tool. Filter > Animation > Playback.

~ Now you can save the animation.

Note : Save the animation as .gif

Final result :
Pretty good tutorial. This could be done faster with PS but considering many people don't need PS for their graphics, this tut is pretty good.
Yaa..GIMP also have a plugin name "G.A.P" that can do it much faster. But, so many user having pobs with it,especially MAC user. So I make this tut for those doesn't like GAP o didn't have it.
