I made an FTP account on a free hosting site, infact several.
I started by using command prompt but then thought I may have been doing something wrong, so I switched to Filezilla.

This is the problem I am getting when I try to connect:
Code:
Status:    Resolving address of oakhill.x10hosting.com
Status:    Connecting to xx.xx.xx.xx:xx...
Status:    Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response:    220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ----------
Response:    220-You are user number 8 of 50 allowed.
Response:    220-Local time is now 01:30. Server port: 21.
Response:    220-This is a private system - No anonymous login
Response:    220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
Response:    220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Command:    USER cameron
Response:    331 User cameron OK. Password required
Command:    PASS ********
Response:    530 Login authentication failed
Error:    Critical error
Error:    Could not connect to server

The password is correct, as is the rest of the login information.

Am I doing something wrong?
Try changing the username to user.drivehq.com instead of just user. obviously drivehq.com will be replaced with the website name..
Yeah it eventually started working. Maybe it just needed some time to get its act together.

Thanks anyway.
Yeah I suggest you go to the 'control panel' on the website to see if you actually have the right credentials.
Thats how I made the account originally. I don't know why it didn't work... but it does now.
