Mmm, this is a bad idea IMHO. Just because you say deleting the files won't be tolerated doesn't mean that someone won't hop onto a VPN and do it anyway. Good luck with that.
And if they do ill reupload the files but its best to not do it constantly,it's not that big deal either way forum is having its defualt theme from mybb nothing to lose.

But when a member registers and gain some posts you PM him/her the ftp info...

Yeah it's just to keep it secure as you can.
Making FTP info public is very bad idea....
But when you have already members you could also make a donation group HF L33T like, when they buy it then have the control over the forums.
