Photoshop Movie Effect Tutorial

Tools Needed:
- Stock Image: Link
- 25min of your time.
-------------
Credits: Me.

Step 1

Open the stock photo in PS. Now we're going to reduce the saturation to -76 by Pressing -
CTRL+UAnd set the parameters as in the Image below.

Now we're going to apply Exposure, Go to Image>Adjustments>Exposure... And set the parameters as in the Image below.

Step 2

Duplicate the last layer by clicking CTRL+D Now we are going to add A little Blur to the image by going to Filter>Blur>Lens Blur
Use the image below to adjust you parameters.
- You Should Get something like that.

Focusing.

Now Add a new layer mask to the Duplicated layer, Choose the Brush tool
and set the Size to about 160px, set the color to Black
and brush hardness to 0 and start brushing till you get something like this.

Now Create a New Layer, Select the Paint Bucket Tool
Change it's opacity to 70% and fill it with black.
Now select the Erase Tool and erase the Focus Area.
You will get something like this.

Step 3


click on random layer in the layers panel with your Right mouse Click
and select Flattern Image this should merge all the layers to 1.
Next go to Filter>Noise>Add Noise
and adjust the parameters as shown in the image below.

Next We'll be creating the Movie effect, Press CTRL+B
to bring up the Color balance window and adjust the
Midtones,Shadows,Highlights according to the parameters in the
images below.

Final step! Select the Rectangular Tool and create a new selections filled with Black to make it looks like Cinema Scopes.

DONE.

You are missing the common black borders from up and down.
Woah! That's freakin' brilliant! Amazing tutorial OP. Could this possibly be influenced or developed even further by using a gradient map? But thanks so much for taking the time to do this, It's really appreciated.
