What's the best proxy/vpn to use to access it? Must be free, considering my funds are weak

If you have any funds at all you can get nvpn, nvpn.net
Hotspotshield should do the trick for you.
Or maybe try cyberghost, their free vpn gives 1gb a month, should be enough..

Purchase a small VPS, 64MB RAM & Small specs, SSH & Tunnel.
Blackshades VPN seems to do the job at the small price of $5 per month. They isn't a free VPN that can access HF, I suggest you use a SOCK5 proxy.
I vote for Proxomitron .It's the best one to hide your ip
I suggest you purchase a VPS and then install OpenVPN.
Most of all VPNS out there are blocked.
That would seem to vary on whether or not you are inclined to use an onshore or offshore tunnel and if you care about your IP being logged. I highly doubt any free VPN services have no logging and offshore servers, because these anonymity benefits leave the owner with no incentive to produce; this is because they have nothing to actually gain from someone financially when upgrading to such a service. A SOCKS-5 may be your best bet.
