Hey there people, I am going to show you how to update the driver for the NVIDIA graphic card in Fedora. This is going to be a pretty short tutorial since it's pretty easy, but it could be difficult the first time.
First of all you'll have to download the driver which is located on this website.
When you have downloaded the driver you must reboot your computer and log into safe mode since you can't install the driver with X running. To boot into safe mode you'll have to press p before the OS starts and you should come into a menu that allows you to choose which OS you want to boot up.
Mark the OS you wish to choose and press "e". Then mark the option that says "kernel /vmlinuz" and press e again. Now you just have to press space and write "3" like "lv_root rhgb quiet 3". That means that you'll boot in the third mode, which is the safe mode. Now boot the computer and login. Go to the directory where you saved the driver. For example, "$ cd ~/Download/". Now type "sh file". For example "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-185.18.14-pkg1.run".
That should be it. =)
Great tutorial. Thanks! I'm gonna try this. Smile
