I'm trying to make myself a new wallpaper. and I found this while looking for renders. My question, can someone help me figure out how to get this effect/style? I'm not sure if I can explain what I mean exactly but just how the guy looks, it's obviously been through photoshop or some sort of photo editing program.

I'd really appreciate any help..

Just looks as though the contrast has been turned up. I made a tutorial a while back which might give you a similar effect:
