So, if i were to use my laptop as a server to run my forum, would it be practical? Most likely the forum won't go big(it's hard to make a big forum)
So my computer should be able to handle the small traffic.

But is security a problem when running a server from my comp? I mean, I won't be touching the computer. It'll just be on, and it does have anti virus.

So is getting hacked when running your own server easier?
Your laptop? No, probably not. You also need to remember that if you're serious about that, your computer would need to store all of the data for the database on that computer. If people found out though that you didn't expect it to be big, then they might not waste their time joining though lol.

What kind of security do you mean? Usually if you use it as a web server, that's all people would use it for and nothing else. It's not any easier to get hacked though in reality.
