Hi there, this is my first run at using HijackThis.
I hope I'm doing it right Unsure

Basically things are running very slowly,I get a windows explorer error when trying to open "C" Drive and I'm not sure if it's software related or what but my USB ports have been running really slow since putting an Analogue to Digital video capture thumbdrive in ages ago(yes I took it back to the chain-store and told them)...it may be my motherboard with this???
I did uninstall all usb stuff completely and rebooted many times but the ports keep coming up with the"This Device......" ;)

OK here's the HJT file:

Ok,I just received an email that a response was made with a partial excerpt of the message and ummm well obviously there isn't one?

Have I been Hacked or Phished?

Here's the email
"AndyMan,

๖ۣۜмσg тιмєz has just replied to a thread which you have subscribed to at Support Forums. This thread is titled Not sure what's going on?.

Here is an excerpt of the message:
------------------------------------------
You've probably got a virus hidden in your processess named "winlogon" or something, they are smart and name their viruses that victims won't detect as suspicious.... (visit the thread to read more..)
"

I did find a .RND file in the C directory before it would give an error and close which was related to recently updating my Codec's after searching and found ffdshow.something??? could be the problem,so I shredded the .RND file in safe mode and Revo'd K-Lite,restred to an older version.

All seems to be OK but I'm a but worried about the email and still not sure if I'm bug free.

Thanks for your views so far.
I see the user's account has been deactivated!

Now I have a new process msdtc.exe.
as a NETWORK SERVICE
3 instances in a search
c:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
c:\WINDOWS\system32
c:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$
all are 6kb in length and is a new service, should I kill it?
Hi,

Step 1:

Please download OTL from one of the following links
  • LINK 1
  • LINK 2
    • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in;

      Quote:netsvcs
      %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.*
      %systemroot%\*. /mp /s
      CREATERESTOREPOINT
      %systemroot%\system32\*.dll /lockedfiles
      %systemroot%\Tasks\*.job /lockedfiles
      %systemroot%\System32\config\*.sav
      %systemroot%\system32\drivers\*.sys /180

    • Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them if you need to start a new topic.
