Big dogs are more fun because
- They can keep up while you walk
- Can be more protective of their owners
- You can hug them without killing them.
Small dogs seem to be bitches.
Lap dogs are annoying, pesky, crap everywhere, loud, and constantly want attention.
They don't live as long as other dogs, a lot of them shed and need to be the star of the show, all the damn time.

I wish i could say that big dogs are better because they wont constantly jump on you, but thats not the case with me. I have a pitbull and he is under the impression he is a lapdog. He constantly jumps on the couch and snuggles with me. Best of luck persuading to not get a lap dog.
I will have to go with big dogs because i always love big dogs and lap dogs are kinda annoying somwtimes :/
I love big dogs because they can protect you more, and some are cute. Lap dogs don't really do anything but lay around
