The syntax changes diversely between a few languages though which makes things harder for the person to make a switch to some languages.

If you go with C++ don't learn VisualC++. There's almost no point in switching over if that's the path you take.

Thats good, I started with a couple of youtube videos made by this guy... I didn't really go far, but it was fun... maybe ill get back into and use that site... thanks
The lessons they have on there are so helpful. This will definitely come in handy. Thanks for sharing the site.

Good luck on learning VB =P, I've started to learn c++, almost have all the basics stored in my mind.

Are you planning on making VB your long-term goal?
This is the guy I learnt off, hes helped me via pm on youtube to, hes a nice guy.
