It's difficult finding and keeping a best friend also as a child. Sometimes you end up going to different schools, sometimes your parents move and the whole load of possibilities can easily end a friendship. As Brian said, it will be much easier to have a best friend once I'm an adult and can control my own destiny.
No, you can have best friends even if you move cities. My best buddy is in another city but we still talk n stuff via Facebook, etc.

It isn't the same though. You don't get to hang out everyday like you used to, you can't go to the movies, you can't go to each others house. It's complicated.

Well, I used to feel a bit like you but then I got in touch with a few of my friends
that I really did not pay any attention to, anyway they were potheads and out of my own choice
I decided to join them, I then started smoking weed for a while (I am NOT supporting/endorsing drugs)
this gave us common ground and something to talk about/do, we then started a mini band we covered songs etc
and became very close friends. Anyway I am not at all saying "Do drugs" Just find common ground
with people, trust me you will become the best of friends.
I'm kind of in this same situation, but I've somewhat gotten out of it. Your friends won't really consider you good/best friends unless you take the initiative to be friends with them. So if you're only friends during school and you're not friends during the summer and stuff and away from school, then you're not going to be best friends.
What I suggest is go do stuff with them that is fun. Like with my friends, we go to movies and go paintballing and crap, and its fun.
Just do stuff like that
When your younger you seen more and more people everyday in school. I see a whole bunch of fake people in my school and two-faced people. I try no to get really good friends with anyone, cause you never know what they do behind your back. I got a group of me and these other 4 guys. We chill and hang around all the time, but all of us are "fake" some way or another. We're not best friends but we are "boys" (guys who will always have each others backs). And im just like you, i don't have a best freind. Just good friends and great friends.

Not too much actually. Even though we're far away we plan on visiting each other and stuff. We still decide on doing stuff online(like the clan we're making on PS3) etc. It's not too tough and it feels good to have a good friend. We made a promise like 3 years ago that no matter where we are we'd still stay in touch and be pals.
Well actually i don't have a bestfriend too, but i'm actually gonna move far from where i am actually so i hope i'll meet some cool people at my destination.
I don't consider anyone my best friend, I have a lot of good friends and would be hard to pick one. Maybe on how often I hang with someone/communicate..
