I am going to be working on a short film, and I am going to need to add lasers into it. What is a good video-editing software that allows you to add special effects such as lasers into videos.

For a computer, I have a Windows XP, and for current video-editing software, I have Windows Movie Maker and Pinnacle VideoSpin, but neither of them have what I need.
Please and thanks.

Camtasia Studios - Simple, user friendly editor.
Sony Vegas - Intermediate, user friendly editor.
Adobe Premiere - Advanced movie editor, not for effects.
Adobe After Effects - Specifically for effects and nothing else.

My opinions of the 4 main video editors.

I just cant be more agreed with that Blic
Sony vegas is awesome.I've been using it for quite a long time now.

Try it out!
If this is still not resolved, I'd like to recommend After Effects.
You can get a 30 day free trial from Adobe, and there are plenty of tutorials for achieving the exact effect you desire.
Here is a Google search result pointing to those tutorials.

Enjoy.

Also, if needed, I can edit the video for you, possibly for free!
It is a interesting sharing.........

Windows Media Player is not an editor :S
Ace I think he ment movie maker, lol?
I'd go for a mix of sony vegas pro and adobe after effects.
Don't go with Sony Vegas, you'll only be wasting your time.

After Effects is 100% the best program for what you're wanting to do.
There are thousands of tutorials out there so you'll pick it up no problem.
I'm not entirely sure what sort of lasers you're after, but this might be helpful to you:
