If you are serious, you've either been taking drugs, or you have sleep paralysis. I've heard of these things being called hypnagogic hallucinations, and they happen in a state where you are half asleep and half dreaming, yet these "figures" will seem fairly lucid and realistic.
Not sure how the whole thing goes, as i've read stories about people actually feeling and interacting with these "presences" whether it's though touch, sight, smell, or hearing.
Could just be something we can't understand about the universe yet, where a different dimension is visible to some? Or could all just be the creativity of our imagination making them seem more realistic than they are.

It's probably hallucinations. Maybe some trauma in his life brought back some way and now haunting him?
Anyways 5ystem 3rror, you should seriously consider staying off drugs if your taking them and get a lot of sleep. Consult a therapist and for the nights try staying at a friend's house or watch some TV or something. Hope you get well soon and the shapes and stuff will be gone.

so he's on his lap top typing this up. While theirs figures in his room? If there were figures in my room i'd grab my remote and turn on the T.V. because that would most likely help, and than id start swinging at them.
