A Windows 7 key came with my Asus laptop. Now whenever I attempt to start Windows, it tells me that it isn't genuine and I can't do anything. Only way I'm able to use it now is in safemode. Any idea why it's telling me that it isn't a genuine key or how to fix this error?
contact microsoft support about this and they shall help you !
charanbir is right, just contact MS. i think i got the same problem too when they release the SP1.
Guess I'll call them. Hope they have 24 hr support.
Good luck bro. I hope MS will help you fixing that. Smile
Did you buy this computer retail or off locally? If you did retail, call MS and you'll get a new code, if it was a local buy, it's just a fake =/
if MS didin't help you with the code. I suggest you use an activator. it works very well also. Big Grin
Try Re-Typing it. Or you could just go what elvingguitar said Smile
Yeah I'd just call up MS, let them deal with it because it's not your problem.

I did read about this accutally. Apparently, you shouldn't install SP1 unless you have an essential need for it.
