I got it for free from Sprint after 2 years.
I am probably going to root it after 2-3 months of use, what are the odd's of me following all the right steps and me bricking it?

Is this phone any good? I know it's nothing in the smartphone world but it's a good start isn't it?

I believe it's 0% chance of bricking if all you are going for is root.

With z4root, the developer says if anything goes wrong, you should be able to just reboot and try it again.
