Well yeah, of course. I personally have everything backed up daily (and for a larger board I run, I back up the DB every 6 hours). But, I guarantee you there are people here that don't do it regularly. And then will complain when their host goes bust, or their DB corrupts, etc. And they have nothing to say for it.
