I'm currently running windows 7: Professional and I've been having some thoughts of switching to Linux.

Any ideas which way I should go?

I like the customization of Linux.
But I don't quite understand the OS that well.

Any tips or advice I would love!

Of course you would download the latest version. (11.04)

I would go for Linux imho. I used it before, but had to switch to Windows to be able to play the newest games.
Depends what your doing. I find it hard sometimes to get "Work" done on linux, and end up booting into windows. I like Linux for messing around on... surfing.. listening to music... But thats about it.
Just install with Win7.. Use wubi or you can install dual boot.. feel the differents and compare it.. with ubuntu, you can use exe (Windows) application with wine..
Try it.. i'm really satisfied with UBUNTU
You should dualboot. While I enjoy using Ubuntu because of it's lightness, Windows 7 is still a great operating system.
You should dualboot indeed. Linux is legendary but sadly many applications are Windows only.
I am happy with Windows and will never change. I cant work with linux. And many apps and programs are only for Win.

OMG!
Depends on what you would use it for..
Stay with windows IF you game, school, work.

If you don't really do any of that on a computer i would recommend switching to Linux.
Wine will run most windows .exe
