Turn to CNN. 52 hours until the goverment shutdowns. Opinions?
...give us some information -_-
Someone mind explaining to me? I'm Canadian so the channels are different and Russel Brand is talking, but is the American Government shutting down or going to?
Yea the goverment shutdown means that people who are waiting are going to loan them money, such as small local business etc won't have money. People in the military won't receive checks. There's a lot more chaos to it. Barak Obama just spoke and said they haven't reached a conclusion -___- Our politicians need to grow up

All of the money is going into their pockets anyways. But no, unfortunately that money is not for redistribution. To them, it just doesn't exist, unless they need it to buy their own Lamborghini or Dodge Vipers. 1% of the businessmen, and higher class people in the world own the majority of the money. Something like over 90% of the total wealth in the world?

There's no method to reducing poverty or recessions, they just like to keep it for themselves, and make plans so that they don't have to give up a little money, even though they already have truckloads of it. Simple as that.... Long live capitalism Smile
Capitalism is good.... Or so I've been taught in school.

Of course, during the Cold war everyone was taught that communism was bad. But you don't actually get to see the bigger picture of all of the economic systems. Communism isn't really that bad. Socialism isn't really that bad. Capitalism is good if you're a high class person.

People teach you that Capitalism is good because the bigger "Fat Cats" as a phrase Tommy Douglas likes to use, are enjoying all the money they rake in. In a Communist system, or a Socialist system, their wealth wouldn't mean as much.

Capitalism is greed. But it's not good, school is like a brainwashed system, enforced by government themselves.

The great depression happened because of greed. People put money into the stock market, (the rich people)... And when everyone bought, and it hit an all time high, they sold out, and took all of the money themselves.
I'm not really concerned about the government shutdown. I guess my SSI check will come in late but all that money ends up going back to the government anyway X.X I really wish that the politicians would get a clue and come to some form of agreement.

Communism is good in theory but it hasn't ever been executed very well in the real world, whether you label them Communists or Capitalists, the same greedy people always want more when they have more than they could ever need.

Thats because communism has never been true communism. Hitler, Stalin, claimed it, Stalin on more of the Socialist side for the claim, but both were dictatorships in the end anyway. Nazism and Stalinism. You were indoctrinated and hypnotized into loving your ruler, and you agreed to the decisions made anyway whether it seemed like you had an influence or not.

For Stalin, people working in the 5 year plans weren't as equal as the people who were not. The working class was treated like slaves. And you could probably assume why communism wasn't working for Hitler either. They reference communism as bad mostly because of Hitler and Stalin, but the "communist" systems that were so called to be practiced by them wasn't true communism.

Communism is just given a bad reputation based on the illusion of having those systems being called Communism.
