Ok i just started up an old pc. For testing mostly and a bit of serving.
Its a Mandriva based os with everything you would expect.
Now i also run it as a second desktop mainly to monitor some other sites im part of. Now the problem i have is i cant for the life of me stop the bloody power saver mode.........
Changed it under root and user and logout and still it shuts down the monitor after a few minutes.......
Stupid and simple i know but its got me screwed.... <-- hope that dont get me another -rep.
Sorry it turns out it was kpowersaver mode. Damn i did not pick that. Sad Arent i red faced.
Turn your screen saver off, change all options to leave screen off. And reboot. Should be good to go.
This is why I hate bloated distributions.

Linux distros can be light or "bloated" as you like them...I have Mandriva 2009.1(WMII window manager) running on a P2 with 250Mb/RAM and it runs fine.

Bloated distros - Linux is highly configurable so its as bloated as you make it...
