I have a domain from godaddy. I need to point it to my VPS (not from godaddy) I tried adding A zone and typing my VPS IPs there but it didnt work. Can anyone tell me exactly how to do this ? TYA
Try to change the nameservers on your domain to the nameservers of your VPS.
Hopefully this helped you.
I think I can help you.

Try to ping the NS that you made.

If it didn't respond, add a NS record of the IP's of you VPS to your godaddy account, make it ns1 and ns2.
Then, have your domain name's nameservers to ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.youdomain.com

Wait for the DNS to propagate now.
Then add A record in your vps.
You can use free dns service like dnspark.net
very easy to use..
register, and set you nameserver's to dnspark's NS
As explained above, you should have some name servers which were associated with your Vps server, just update your Godaddy account to match these.
If your domain name service has DNS services, use those.

You just edit your DNS records and put an A-record to your www like this

It's simple, just update your nameservers.
Create nameservers with the VPS ip. And add it on your VPS.
Point the domain to the vps by registering name servers.

Or use domainpark.
