Thats possible. Cant really tell tho. Don't think it could be a problem, other then if you compressed your cdrive in the same time as downloading the game Huh
Well I compressed it a month ago. Think it just compresses anything it sees.

Well, a drive compressing normally compress what you tell him to compress.
Lets wait until your done and see. It compress, and dont corrupt or remove files, so it shouldnt make any of your games unplayable.
I'm doing this.

  1. Uncompressed Team Fortress 2 Folder [-]
  2. Validating Steam files - 40% complete
  3. Defrag Steam files [ ]

Well, if you also have problem with TF2, that might just be that.
Defrag your steam folder.
Just try to re-download it, and if you have an anti-virus on, put it to game mode or turn it off. Hopefully this works

I don't use antiviruses. I redownloaded L4D2, didn't fix.
