Well I'm using an Acer Aspire 5735. The graphics card is the Mobile Intel 4 Chipset. It's got an outdated driver, and when I go to update, the screen goes black and the PC stops responding, I have to turn it off manually and then reboot, returning it to before the driver update through system restore.

I've got no clue as to the problem Tongue Everything else updates fine, unless the driver itself isn't working properly.
What OS do you happen to be using?
Oops, missed that part out Tongue I'm running W7 Ultimate x86.
Man, that's a tough issue. I can't think of anything with that issue but I did a few searches and I found this:

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showt...t&p=412348

That may help you.

EDIT: It's not nVidia specific
