Not sure about the solid white edge. But I do find my self drawn to this, and I'm not sure why.

As you can tell:

The fill on the font is too blurry & not a nice colour. I think you should scrap the whole background because the design is actually half decent and the background spoils it. It would work well as maybe a T-shirt design. Perhaps stick it on a blank T-shirt template and see how it looks.
