Not exactly.
When meditating, you try to focus yourself on thinking about nothing, or just breathing. Something very simple, that wont really get yourself tired.

Also, meditation isn't just about relaxing one's self.
Yeah you want to clear your mind when meditating.

I am not a religious individual and I once meditated and it was great.
i never tried this but i think i will give it a go.
I do this. But I call it sleeping.

If you fell asleep during meditation all the time you passed doing is was for nothing. No effect whatsoever.

i fell asleep while doingit but it was weird, like i knew i was asleep but i could still hear
Dont you have to be very confident in your mind to do it ?
I've never tried that to be honest, although if I'm in a down-ish mood I'll throw on some tunes, genres depending on the mood.
