I have installed XP on my old server to start using for games.
Was wondering if anyone new of any tweaks i could perform to make it run that little bit better.
Also were can i get free themes?

Thank you in advance.
Come on guys, i know there are some pro's on here. Help a fellow SF user out please.
I cant offer free themes for XP.
Well i can but only ones google offers.
If you really want free stuff then search warez-bb and register. Enough said on that.
As for speeding up XP.
1. Disable Indexing Services.. Worth doing for sure.
2. Optimize Display Settings.. Grey area. It really is. depends on your hardware entirely.
3. Speedup Folder Browsing.. This works!
4. Improve Memory Usage..... A must IMHO
5. Optimize your internet connection... Again a must.
6. Optimise Your Pagefile...... A must also.

There the top ones i do.

Do them and reboot. Let us know after that if you notice a difference.
For gaming though i hope you have a good graphics card mate.
This will ultimately be your limit should you start gaming.

Also if you have the luxury. Dont allow it net access at all.
No AV and no firewall. Nothing but gaming related stuff.
Deny it access from your router even based on local ip.
Make it a dedi game system that way.
Good luck mate.
I have finished doing these tweaks, and to be honest the difference is minimal.
I will be using primarily for games, but will also but using it for browsing the net etc also.
Thanks for all the input you have offered, i really appreciate it.
If you want to improve game speed, get "GameBooster". It'll free up like 150MB ram.

Thank you for the heads.
Will Google it now.
Here's what I do whenever I reformat, Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Settings (Performance) > Click Adjust for Best Performance.
