Hi,

I load my laptop - everything is fine. I then connect it to the internet by holding FN and F10, after a minute or so a blue screen will appear with alot of white text (this shows for about 2 seconds) then the laptop shuts down.

I've tried re-booting my laptop to factory settings by holding F11 on start-up however the laptop makes a piercing alarm noise until I hold the OFF button.

Please can someone reply giving me advice on what to do, thanks!
Lee
This mya be due to serveral reasons, maybe your wifi card is burned out (broken) so when ever you activate wifi you laptop freezes.

But could you please tell me the numbers that appear in the blue screen, Like a picture from their ill be able to help you
Can we have an idea of the error you get.
Also what makes you think its realted to the net?
Try keep the laptop up without net and load it up. Get some videos running for 5 mins.
Will it BSOD then?
Xp i am assuming?
Is your laptop hot when it shuts down?

Also, how long ago did this start occurring?
try to reformat , or check it from the local shop for hardware malfunction
I expect that you have a virus. It seems the most logical explanation.
Do you have an antivirus? If not:
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
http://free.avg.com/gb-en/homepage
Run a full scan and see if it solves the problem. You can also try downloading HJT: http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ and posting the log in a HJT support forum: http://www.supportforums.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=48 be sure to follow the rules before posting there.
Post a screenie of your BSOD. Then we can help you from there.
If you do not have a virus then try to rollback your driver. You can do so by going right click my computer -> Device manager, then select your network card and there will be an option to roll back the driver.

IF you don't mind please post the error from the blue screen. Should be something like STOP 0x000000E2
It could be a driver issue. role back your drivers are update them..
Drivers may be corrupted.
Can you update them at all?
