Quote:An incomplete listing on retailer Kmart's website is promoting a PlayStation 3 Slim available starting August 24 for $299.

Touting the revelation on their home page earlier with the headline "The rumors are reality," the Kmart site details a slim version of the PS3 with a 120GB hard drive and DualShock 3 controller included. The home page promotion has now been removed.

Engadget reports a similar online listing appearing on the Sears website.

The listings adds to growing speculation that console developer Sony will introduce a slim model of the PlayStation 3 this year along with a cut in price. Currently, the PS3 is listed at $399.

TechCrunch, along with a variety of other gaming outlets, cite an ad run by retailer FYE detailing an 80GB PS3 for $299, and the 160GB model bundled with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for $399.

Sony may provide more details later today during a press conference at GamesCom, the annual video game expo held in Cologne, Germany this week.

Readers, do you think the PS3 Slim is real? Will it attract more buyers?
