i need help but whether you can do it is another question.I,ve got an old razor v3 that i would like unlocked which is asking me for a subsidy code.you normally get this from the provider but as i dont know what it was on befor i cant phone to ask
It depends on the type of phone you have, in most cases you will need to type in a "unlock code" but you'll have to jailbreak it for iPhones.

Well, whenever I couldn't find a free way to unlock my phones with google I'd use

They make you pay for the unlock code but there is no hassle and you get your phone unlocked right away. Funny thing is after I paid it took a bit for them to email me the unlock code so I emailed them saying I didn't get it. They refunded me and I still ended up getting the code. Note the site is obviously made for Canadians.
You would have to research Jailbreaking and Unlocking your phone via Cydia. Check your Firmware and Baseband Number then go into Cydia after Jailbreaking and use Ultrasn0w.
