I agree on that. Old does not mean ugly, even though the site hasn't been updated since 2007.

I think that would have something to do with it. To people who don't spend their days designing templates/websites, these templates might seem very professional, but they might just look like amateur work to trained designers. But, one can't expect much when they aren't paying.
