Externel Harddrive not working on Fedora
#1
Hey.

So yesterday I installed Fedora 12 x64, and everything it working great. I love it. There's only one thing that's not going to plan, for some reason my externel harddrive doesn't work properly. I didn't use to even show up as plugged in, but now it shows up as this:

That's all in a folder called "WINDOWS".

I assume I need to format it to ext3 or something, which I can't afford to do, it has everything on there that I don't want to lose. Also, it wouldn't work on Windows if I did, right?

Any help would be great.
At the top will be the same place you hang from.

Try plugging it directly into the machine via sata/IDE, or whatever. Using a windows PC to try and salvage the data wouldn't be a bad idea to try. See if it shows up on a windows PC. If these don't work you can use a number of data recovery programs, the trouble is Fedora won't support them being a Linux OS.

Good luck!
