Moved host.

I prefer KVM too. All the dedicated servers I have provide me KVM on request and my HF server has 24/7 KVM which I pay extra for.

Quote:That's a topic which I shall never discuss whilst I remain in this business

That's weird. It just goes to show me that you know you're not the best and fear speaking the truth about it.

Quote:In the case of the company I'm behind, yes - but that still doesn't stop me from offering friendly advice and assistance, despite this bias.

The nature of a bias means your opinion and views are slanted toward your own goals. Your bias makes everything you say meaningless. Yes you can offer friendly advice and assistance but it's all biased and slanted for you to gain a customer.

Quote:If he feels that what he did is best for him, then it's something which one should accept.

Oh I can accept it but that in no way means he did what's best for him.

Quote:You'd be surprised - I'm behind three companies, and also act as an advisor to developing hosts. There's more than you would normally care to imagine below the tip of the iceberg - but that topic ends here ;)

Not to be insulting but really? Is that going to be your response? It's completely obscure and imho I don't see why anyone would use your services based on that as experience.

Quote:I wish both of you the best of luck with your hosting decisions in the future, and look forward to seeing how you guys are doing with your providers in a few months time.

What Damink does is his problem. And I don't have the need to ask others where I should move. I have servers and accounts peppered all over the place.

You really don't understand the history I have had with Damink. I have helped him on many many occassions as a friend. So I took offense when again I help him and he tells me a couple days later I gave him bad advice. I probably overreacted but it happens. What I have done for Damink you probably wouldn't do for a hosting client.

By KVM, I mean the virtualisation technology, not KVMoIP Smile But yes, it's very handy, and I insist on having it.

No, it's because I own a business in this industry and I have 100% faith in it - thus I'm not going to back another company as my possible choice of host if I wasn't in this position now. I believe that my brand is the best for the niche I am marketing it in, and so I'm not going to name any other company with regards to this question.

Everyone is entitled to have their own views and objectives. In the case of this thread, none of what I have done has been to gain a customer - I'm a member of this forum, and I'm here to help other people who need assistance in an area which I specialise in. By nature, I may be biased towards my own business, but what I say is by no means meaningless.

Say what you like, I don't have to publicise my personal or business life here - if people become interested in our services through our website, then they should be interested in what the company offers, not what the faces behind it do outside of the time they spend developing the brand, assisting clients etc.

I'm not trying to comprehend your history with him at all - I'm here trying to help, and if you've done the honourable thing by going the extra mile for a friend, then I'm not going to criticise it at all. Good for you.

I think that concludes my time in this particular thread, as I can't see how I can be of any further assistance to the OP unless they post with some more questions/are in need of more help.

Have a great day! Smile

I like you. You put up a good fight and remain civil. Kudos to you. Most would have rattled at my reply.

I might even use your services.

I see we are able to agree on one thing at least.
