connection popup error.

Hi

I do not know what to call my problem so I will explain it as good as I can.

I have WinXP SP2 and normally when you plug in a network cable, something will pop-up in the right bottom corner telling you that you have plugged in a network cable.

Now my problem is, my computer does not do that!
Also when I connect to the Internet it is suppose to tel me I am connected at XXkbps but it does not.

Look at this picture I found in google to see what I am talking about.

How can I fix this?

It's not big deal to me. I mean if the internet is working fine so why to care!!

But anyway, try this, Go to control panel and click on network connections, right click the connected network and click on properties, a page will come up, make sure the last two sentences are ticked, Then ok, apply.

I hope this will fix it.

Here you have a tutorial on how to disable them, and I guess you can check if they are disabled on your PC and simply enable them again.

There is also a option I belive, when you are changing Preformance settings.
