I hope by "the entire time" you only mean when pressing the clutch. Riding the clutch is a VERY bad habit and will wear your throwout bearing really prematurely. So no, you only have your foot on the clutch when needed.

It's a bit confusing at first. After droping the clutch to fast and stalling I got frustrated, but I think that was my lack of multitasking skills Tongue But yes, after a while you will simply change almost subconciously. (kind of)
