Once a time ago...

I had to write a portrait poem for an art class in school. To be honest in the beginning I was quite hopeless, since poems aren't quite my thing.
None the less I finally finished something I believe to be rather decent, so I decided to post it here, and see what you people think of it.

Once a time ago a man asked me who I am
I looked at him in doubt and then repeated the question to myself
Then I explained what books I liked and why I liked them
I told the man, I never met before, what food I liked and what music I listened
I told the man who my parents were and how many brothers and sister I had
I proceeded by telling the man my thoughts about the world and politics
I even told the man my very personal opinions about life itself
Though suddenly the man stopped me and he said
“That’s all nice and good, but what are you doing in my bedroom at 3AM?”

Yeah, I wrote it myself. Not much a poet, but this came to my in a wave of inspiration, and I was kinda a funny, so ye.

That's great, but my teachers always give good grades for very deep, thoughtful, life contemplating poems.
