Connecting To My Wireless Card
#1
Hey Guys.

I'm on a Laptop with a Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card (Model F5D9010)

Currently I'm on my Windows 7 OS and I can get on the internet perfectly. However, when I switch over to Ubuntu, I can find my wireless network, but I can't connect to it.

I'm assuming it has something to do with software. A few months ago I have successfully connected with this laptop and card, with Ubuntu.

I couldn't find anything through google that has helped me. Anyone that can help me, Id appreciate it.

If you can connect via a ethernet cable, do that.. And do the update for ubuntu. This might fix your problem. If not, try turning your wireless card off then on.

Let me know if this works or not. Smile

Hey Codine. Nice to see you. Smile.

I connected via ethernet and the internet worked fine, and I did the update. It required a restart. I did that and the internet works fine via ethernet, but it still isn't working wirelessly.

Maybe there is a browser page, whereby you can log into the router/card?

It is usually something like a default address of:

192.168.1.254

as it is with mine, and probably many other people's as well, as it falls under the range of default IP addresses for a LAN.

With my router, which is external, the wireless function is now disabled,
but it was originally set at enabled, but I changed that immediately,
as soon as I got it.

Maybe the same principal could apply for you, to give you access, to the control settings page,
for your wireless card as well, so you can check the wireless settings.

Good luck with it, I hope that may work.
