I have a thread like this, because my dog Lilly just died, and I was wondering if my dog Daisy(Lilly's daughter) would notice.

In most cases yes, but some dogs are different from others, even if it's the same breed. In my case I had 2 cats, the older one died and although the younger one didn't really appear to get on with it while it was alive, she literally spent weeks searching for her and when she came to the conclusion she was no longer here she sort of ignored my family, stopped being playful and basically fell out with us for a while. It's amazing how animals deal with death and companionship.

They must know, They might not know what has happened or where they have gone. But they act differently or at least my dog did.

dogs and cats always quarrel. cuz cats are more beautiful kind of animals than dogs. maybe dogs are just insecure at dogs.

Yes, a dog would know, I'm not sure about a cat though.

Yeah I'd say so, when my cat lost her kitten she got really sad.. She barley ate and stopped running around the house, she just stood at the window all day looking for her child :C
