Linux Mint
Ubuntu
Xubuntu
Kubuntu (I don't like)
Ubuntu Netbook/Unity (Better UI for Netbooks works with Laptops, and desktops)

Are just to name a few...

I havn't tried much else. Don't go with sabayon if you're completely new.
