Gateway MX6131 Notebook Network Driver Not Working
#1
I reformatted my laptop but didn't think of gathering all the necessary drivers beforehand and now I'm stuck looking for them. My main concern is accessing the Internet so my priority is the find my network adapter/LAN driver, whatever you so chose to refer to it as.

These are the drivers that my computer manufacturer's website provided when I filled out the necessary information.

I tried running the 'Network Driver version: 8.30.2.3" on my laptop but I ran into problems. My laptop is running Windows XP, genuine and activated. When I run the driver update, it prompts me with the following screen. (Keep in mind I ran the same file on my desktop just to be able to show you what it does)

If I click 'Yes' or 'No', the same window in the foreground keep popping up but asking for permission to do so with different files. I've tried hitting both 'Yes' and 'No' until it doesn't ask me anymore. The result? When I click 'Yes' or 'No' for the last file, it closes both windows.

If it will help, this is what the windows in the background looks like.

However, I can't do anything with the background window because the one in the front has a priority, if you understand what I mean.

I've looked above and beyond for this driver and everyone either points me to the Gateway support and driver download website or indirectly to the same driver file (D00394-002-001).

I tried contacting Gateway by online chat as well as via their contact number and it turns out my computer is no longer under warranty and they're looking to charge me to following rates to speak to support;

I've run out of options. I've even tried deleting all the files WinZip Self-Extractor told me will be overwritten and retrying to setup but it gives me the same 'already exist' message for them. Then, when I go back to check in my system if the files are still there, they've been recreated from the installation. Bogus!

Here are my laptop's specifications.If you need anything else, just ask. At this point, any help would be appreciated.
