Those officers are a good example of how giving someone power alters their character. There is a cop that I knew before he became a cop who was one of the most headstrong and kind person you would have met here. He got the badge and wore it proud for a few weeks then he became a tyrant as did a lot of the officers. What makes it worse is that they all stick up for each other like a damn cult or something even when they know one of there own was wrong. The law is not perfect, but I know for a fact that these men will be punished because I believe that what goes around comes around. When they end up in jail crying like little babies your mom should write them a letter saying "Don't drop the soap"
On the subject of police brutality, If I may, my cousin was staying at a hotel for a friends graduation party when police showed up saying that they had received a complaint. They were all cooperating when one "officer" pushed my cousin down telling him to stop resisting arrest. What upsets me is that it was just a complaint and there were no grounds for arrest and how the police continued to antagonize my cousin and his friends.
Heroes my butt. I only know of a few who are honest individuals the rest let the power go to their head.
So again I am sorry for what your mom had gone through.
