Which graphics card?

As of right now I am using a single 6970 in my computer and I am thinking about upgrading. The thing I am debating is: do I upgrade to a newer, stronger card like the 7970, or do I just get another 6970 and put it into crossfire?
Money isn't a huge problem but it should be considered as a final factor just because of the large difference in price.
Another thing that I am worrying about is, the card I am currently using runs a little hotter than I would like and I fear that if I get another one in crossfire it will prevent good air movement and cause the cards to overheat more.
So here is what I am thinking.
Pros of going with:

6970 in Crossfire X:
* Better performance with utilities that use crossfire X
* 3 monitors for gaming
* Cheaper

7970:
* Better in the long run
* Less power consumption (Correct me if I'm wrong here)
* Better cooling

So what does everyone think? Should I go with the 7970 or another 6970?

What the fudge...Isn't a 6970 strong enough to handle everything you can throw at it anyways? Uh well nevermind. I think you should go with the 7970, pretty much just because of the "better in the long run". Crossfire doesn't work well with a lot of the applications that need good graphics anyways (BF3, Skyrim, etc.), and a single 6970 OR 7970 can rape those on max settings anyways, since I know a 6850 can.
Also, I think you shouldn't pick the 2nd 6970 because you can use three monitors, because using three monitors...it'd be better to just use a big one (I have a 32") since they won't have those retarded lines in between. If you sell your 6970 to buy a 7970 that might be a good idea But don't base your decision totally off my thinking, because I don't know too much about the new 7xxx series

I agree with [M], 7970 is what I was using and it gives an overall better performance. Up to you though, and I can only imagine using 2 monitors for gaming BTW .

I don't know much about graphics cards, but is it like the higher the number, the better it is? I would like to find out if I have a good or bad graphics card.

I have the VisionTrek HF 5670 and I can run BF3 on Ultra without any problems.
I got mine on sale for only $60.
