Music That Moves You - Omniscient - 06-28-2010

Music to me is dependent on the mood and location. If I'm in a regular bar I love classic rock (70's and early 80's). If I'm at a club I like current pop or hip-hop. If I'm at a show I like industrial music.

I listed to a lot of different types of music at home while I work but there is one artists I am addicted to that moves me emotionally every time.

Tori Amos

She does it for me everytime. Today is a Tori day for me which means I open up Windows Media Player and click play all. I have her entire body of work and then some. It's like 15 or more hours of play. Basically an all day Tori love fest.

If Tori's music doesn't move you then you're an emotional retard. And heres the weird thing for me. I typically dislike female artists and I really dislike piano music. But Tori is on another level as an artist. She is to me the most gifted composer in the last 100 years.

To say I'm in love with Tori is an understatement. It's more like I want to be her heart. I wish to be the muscle that pumps her blood through her veins giving her life the same way I often feel she does for me.

"I'm not like the girls that you've known
But I believe I'm worth coming home to
Kiss away night
This girl only sleeps with butterflies
With butterflies
With butterflies
So go on and fly boy"

I don't think you people have heard of Opeth. They are a Swedish progressive metal band and propably the most artistically gifted band nowadays. They are a great combiantion of beautiful melody,poetry-like lyrics and instrumental proficiency.I really suggest you should check some of their songs.Although their songs, like any other progressive rock/metal song is,are nearly 10 mins long.
