Audio playing in bkgd - HEDZ - 11-25-2009 Hello. I downloaded and opened an *.exe file, which I believe my problems are arising from. Randomly and frequently, I will hear an audio file playing in the background. Most times it is of a Duracell ad. When I look in task manager and processes, I see iexplore.exe is running, whether I have IE8 open or not. As soon as I end that process, the audio immediately stops playing. Also, when I am surfing the net in IE8, when I click a URL (mainly in google) it will redirect me to other websites such as: http://213.174.149.70/td?aid=91462&said=1001 http://7582.91462.blueseek.com/jump1/?affiliate=clickpayz4&subid=91462&terms=canon%20eos%2020&sid=Z584043893x8FM0QDMzkTMfdDM58lNx8FM18VMxUTN5ETO1ITM&a=pyvpxcnlm8&mr=1&rc=0 http://3038.94319.primosearch.com/jump1/?affiliate=3038&subid=94319&terms=windows%20live%20toolbar%20for%20internet%20explorer%207&sid=Z202044324%40%40QMfVDN0ATM5EzXwQjMx8FNx8VO08FMzQTN5ETO1ITM&a=fr5&mr=1&rc=0 As I've typed this help request, an audio file has played. Thank-you very much, -HEDZ RE: Audio playing in bkgd - Acekidd01 - 11-25-2009 You should download HijackThis and post it here. I believe you are infected with a virus. Will you link me to the program you download to analyze it. RE: Audio playing in bkgd - Gone - 11-27-2009 I would suggest to download and install http://www.f-secure.com/en_US/security/security-lab/tools-and-services/online-scanner/ That will allow F-secure to scan your computer and kill viruses, caution, it can take 2 hours or more. RE: Audio playing in bkgd - Jordan L. - 11-27-2009 Does the problem only happen in IE? Or does it do the same in FireFox or Safaria etc. RE: Audio playing in bkgd - ktmrider530 - 11-27-2009 That means IE is sunning on a website, but it's set to hidden. I would scrap IE altogether and go with firefox. If you don't want to uninstal. I would re-install with eather an old version, or the newest. If you are using the newest. Downgrade one version.
