Yeah honestly so many of those groups correspond with one another it's insane.

I think there should be one of each type of group. One for Computing, one for Coding, one for Webmaster, one for Emotional Support, etc. The goal here isn't the competition between groups, which group is the best, etc., but groups that will have the best support members in their category, in order to handle the area they specialize in.

It would be a good idea to either...
  1. Delete the contents of existing groups and start anew
  2. Delete all groups period and make new groups in their stead with new userbars, descriptions, leaders, etc.
I'm fine with either option.

But what about the GeekSquad? The group is still active no?

Agreed, I don't see a reason to have usergroups for anything other than a specific niche of the forum.

The second option is an overall better choice if we're going to be serious about starting new.

Glad to see that someone else thinks the same as me!

Wouldn't be that bad. And groups are owned by Omni and then he appoints Leaders? Groups are here to support SF and support the users, not make money.

RE: Groups - Kondax - 10-14-2014

As decision said, I think we could cleaner get rid of groups.

In my opinion, every group apart from geek squad should be removed, as they're just dead garbage. Think of them as homeless people, they're just using up our resources.

Anyway, Aura and Snorlax have both said that we should have specific groups, I think that'd be better than the more randomised aspect of ba forums.

I strongly agree.

It would give the chance for better groups, and more activity.

Why not just kick the inactive members? I personally think emotional support is a fantastic group, and it just needs more dedicated members.
