Hello Everyone, Today i'm going to teach you how to create Animated Shine effect like the one below.

Step 1:
-Create your canvas. Example is 400x200.

Step 2:
-Fillup your canvas with the color you want. Like the one below.

Step 3:
-Type the text you want with the color you want. The text i want is Sync with the color red.

Step 4:
-Click the brush tool, and choose the first preset with the size 40.

Step 5:
-Now create a new layer and in that layer brush it with white color like the one in the picture below. And put that before the first letter.

Step 6:
-Now click Window>Animation to show the animation toolbar below. If the timeline animation appears click the button that is pointed by the arrow to switch in frames.

Step 7:
-Duplicate the layer from the animation toolbar.

Step 8:
-After that, click the duplicated layer and move the layer from Step 5 after the last letter like this. (Note: Be sure to change the seconds to no delay the 2 layers. And change also the Once to Forever.)

Step 9:
-Create a new layer and merge the the text to the new layer you have created.

Step 10:
-On the animation toolbar hold control and click the 2 layers.

Step 11:
-After that, click the button that is stated below.

Step 12:
-For the frames to add, it depends on your text. Mine is only 4 letters so i will only put 18. Just calculate how many frames you want.

Step 13:
-After that, add a clipping mask with your text. (Press CTRL+ALT+G)

Step 14:
-Now go to File>Save for Web & Devices.

Step 15:
-Thats it! Now your done!

Hope you like this simple tutorial i have created.
Thank You!

Great tutorial, Which is the best version of Photoshop to use?

RE: Sync's GFX Tutorials - Animated Shine Effect - Starbreak - 03-07-2012

Cubee, it's probably best to use the latest version of Photoshop (CS5), since it has the most features.

Thanks for the tutorial, Sync, I'll probably use that technique to make signatures for myself and anyone who wants one. I guessed what to do, judging from the text, since the images didn't work for me.

I suggest you reupload them to imgur.com. ^^

I think lulzimg is down at the moment that's why. As when I posted it, the images are still up.

The text needs to be merged to a new layer 1st then add a clipping mask.
