Getting into Rice (college) - Camgaertner - 01-20-2012

I'm a sophomore, and I'm looking to get accepted to Rice. What can I do to raise my chances?

Things I'm already working on / have:
  • Grades
  • College credit classes
  • SAT / ACT
  • Clubs (I'm in Student Advisory Board, Key Club, UIL Computer Science, and Robotics at the moment)

It's quality over quantity. Make those 4 things the best they can be.

You pretty much just named all of those. If you have a local fire department in town volunteer some hours their. I'm a junior volunteer firefighter at my local fire department. It looks good on college applications. Other than that you have the idea.

Vary up your credentials.. make yourself stand apart somehow whether it be through community service or other.
