[Tut] Light Explosion Text Adobe Photoshop CS5[Tut] - courage - 06-19-2011 Hello Everyone, Today i'm going to teach you how to create Light Explosion Text like the one below. Spoiler (Click to View) Step 1 Open a new white canvas,
Use the type tool to put some text in the middle, make sure to leave some space around the text. Spoiler (Click to View) Step 2 right click on the text layer and choose rasterize type
Hold Ctrl and click on the image of the text layer in the layer menu: this will select only the text in that layer Spoiler (Click to View) Step 3 We need to save this selection so we can use it later.
Go to select > Save selection.. In the window that opened click OK click Ctrl+D to Deselect Step 4 Merge the two layers together: Go to Layer > Merge visable Step 5 Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur And set the radius to about 2.5 Px to get a nice blur like this: Spoiler (Click to View) go to Filter > Stylize > Solarize Then go to Image > adjustments > Auto levels The result should look like this: Spoiler (Click to View) Step 6 Choose Polar to Rectangular Spoiler (Click to View) Step 7 Rotate the canvas: Go to Image > Rotate canvas > 90 CW Then go to Filter > Stylize > wind Choose the settings below: Spoiler (Click to View) Step 8 Repeat the wind effect again by pressing Ctrl+F twice. press Ctrl+i to invert the colors. press Ctrl+F two more times. press Crtl+i again. in the end you'll get something very distorted like that: Spoiler (Click to View) Step 9 Now we'll get the picture back to normal Go to Image > Rotate canvas > 90 CCW then Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates and choose Rectangular to Polar Spoiler (Click to View) Step 10 Make a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N) Set the layer's blend mode to color burn Use the gradient tool and fill the layer. Spoiler (Click to View) Step 11 Now we'll add the text back Make another layer (Ctrl+Shift+N) go to select > Load selection Change the channel to Alpha 1 Spoiler (Click to View) you'll get the selection of the text you made before Fill it with black, by going Edit > Fill change the layer's blend mode to Overlay Spoiler (Click to View) Step 12 we're almost done, just need to add some glow: Right click on the text layer and pick Blending options pick outer glow and change the settings as seen below change the size and spread to get the amount of glow that you want. Spoiler (Click to View) we're all done, that's the end result Spoiler (Click to View) Hope you enjoyed the tutrial
