Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - Austneal - 05-18-2011 I've got a Toshiba Tecra M7 laptop, and when I press certain keys it acts like multiple keys are being pressed. For instance, when the E key is pressed, the 3 key is "pressed" as well (so the outcome is 3e, no matter if I press 3 or E). I've tried blowing out the keyboard, and even removing it and cleaning the contacts. Should I order a replacement keyboard, or could there be something else wrong? RE: Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - ★Cooldude★ - 05-18-2011 Try reinstalling any drivers you have for it. RE: Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - Austneal - 05-18-2011 I've tried, still does it... RE: Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - Quintus - 05-19-2011 Is any other key malfunctioning? If not, I would lean towards a replacement keyboard. RE: Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - ★Cooldude★ - 05-19-2011 Try following this guide. Yes, and they're all upper row buttons. (05-19-2011, 08:32 AM)★Cooldude★ Wrote: Try following this guide. This won't work. It's like the 2 keys are stuck together. RE: Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - Quintus - 05-20-2011 Looks like it indeed is a hardware error. How long have you had this laptop? RE: Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - Austneal - 05-21-2011 About a year. I suspected the keyboard itself until I read about someone having the same issue. The replaced the keyboard and it didn't solve the problem. I'm just trying to figure out what else it could be before investing $29 in a replacement keyboard. RE: Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - Untouch - 05-21-2011 Ask in the section here http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=70&start=0 You need to register, it's the official Toshiba support community. They're good and have helped me in the past. RE: Multiple Keys "Presses" with one Keystroke - ★Cooldude★ - 05-21-2011 (05-19-2011, 08:13 PM)Austneal Wrote: Yes, and they're all upper row buttons. Take the key off your keyboard and press the actual button. Is the issue fixed? |
